TSUKIHIME; GOD male - infinite - bisexual - god of moon - north i don't want to fake, i don't want to break LET'S HOPE YOU HAVE A PERSONALITY!
tsukihime is as old as the moon, but he is not as wise as many might believe. tsukihime is notorious for being extremely naïve; however, the moon god clings stubbornly to the ideals that he has formed over his many long years. few people have ever been able to reason with this childish god. tsukihime takes on the persona of a child more often than not, and few people can ever see behind the false optimism. when in doubt, many just trust their eyes. most would take the god of the moon and night to be aloof and calm; but tsukihime often portrays himself to be a blindly naïve, curious, and clingy. very few people have had the pleasure of dealing with the true tsukihime. most are not even aware that the moon god is exactly how most build him up to be. the true tsukihime is calm, collected, aloof, pessimistic, and highly distrustful; but he retains the same overwhelming naivety.
there are good sides and bad sides to tsukihime nonetheless. the moon god is incredibly opinionated and defensive, and he easily becomes protective and possessive of people that take the time to understand him. this god’s main problem is his incredibly low self-esteem. he doesn’t think that there is anything good about himself, and he is often rather critical of his own work. the only positive thing about himself, according to him, is his voice. tsukihime is also rather pessimistic and not easily impressed. his comments are often short, clipped, and to the point; however, he goes to great lengths to appear more approachable than he truly is. ironically, tsukihime becomes easily confused and blushes at even the simplest hug which is a direct contradiction to his normal aloof attitude. this god isn’t necessarily cynical either, but he doesn’t completely understand how people can see everything in a bright perspective as tsukihime is hardly ever happy. his emotions tend to run between embarrassed, confused, irritated, angry, and neutral. he has almost forgotten the meaning of happiness and joy, but tsukihime isn’t necessarily a depressing individual. he has an incredible head on his shoulders for advice on a wide variety of subjects (except love), and he isn’t afraid to lend his aid out to someone in need. actually, it is almost impossible for him to ignore a person in need.
this god isn’t much of a prankster, and he hates being the subject of a conversation. attention makes him even more embarrassed than normal, and he tries to stay under the radar. his overall personality resembles the moon as he has two completely different phases that share traits; this portrays the every changing phases of the moon as well as the new and full phases. tsukihime’s health and overall mood are also affected by the cycle of the moon. he tends to be more easily irritated and grumpy during the new moon, and his health is at its peak during the full moon. he is also typically stronger at night than during the day, and he is definitely more of a night owl. he hates having to wake up, and he is well known for taking naps in random locations.
tsukihime’s powers are hardly seen. he can control the tides of the ocean at will though they are generally affected more by his emotions. tsukihime often struggles keeping his emotions under check, but he can sometimes become easily angered depending on the topic at hand. his other power involves his visibility. the moon goes between being obvious and being invisible, and tsukihime has the same ability. he cannot, however, erase his presences.
YOU GOTTA COME FROM SOMEWHERE!
tsukihime appeared on the earth the first night that the moon reflected the light of the sun; however, he stayed hidden in a deep slumber until he was eventually discovered by a traveling musician. tsukihime’s original form was not that of a human, and the musician took him to be an oddly colored margay. tsukihime’s first form was chosen to show that he was a diminutive of the sun as the moon only reflected the light of the sun, yet he had his own strange appearance. in reality, he was not a margay, but he looked very similar to the animal. he only lacked spots and had a pure white petal; moreover, his eyes were a startling silvery blue color which was reminiscent of the faint color of moonlight. the musician played a harp for three weeks straight, and tsukihime woke up the night of the first full moon. the young moon god spent the first month of his existence sleeping as he was born the night after a new moon, so realistically his first time awake should be the night that the moon is most visible in the night sky. that is exactly how tsukihime came into being.
the musician who helped awake the slumbering moon god took tsukihime on as his traveling companion. the musician, akiyama shin, appreciated his quite companion immensely; and he presented the young feline creature with his name. akiyama had no way of knowing that shin was not female, and he named the moon god after the japanese words for moon and princess. tsukihime know hates his name, but his hatred comes more from the selfish way in which his companion died. the moon god now insist that others either refer to him as “tsu” or “tsuki” as he will not accept anyone calling him “hime.”
akiyama’s death was a turning point for the young moon god. they had barely been together for twenty years when the god lost his first companion. a poacher began trailing the pair while they were visiting the forest one night, but neither had any inkling about the man. the poacher killed akiyama when trying to get at tsukihime, but the man disappeared into the night before tsukihime could recover from his shock. the moon god went straight to the great god, kami-sama, to see if he could be turned human. he wanted to give his companion a proper burial as he was the only one close to the musician. akiyama had run away from his family, and tsukihime eventually turned into a family-like creature to akiyama. tsukihime’s request was granted, and the moon god wasted no time in giving akiyama a burial in the same place that the musician had originally found him.
time continued to move on, and the moon god tried not to become exceedingly close to anymore mortals. he did not want to face the same heart-wrenching pain that akiyama’s death had brought upon him. tsukihime moved from place-to-place like a ghost for centuries. he never settled down in any of the sections in hisoka, but he visited akiyama’s death every year. it became his tradition, and he wanted to keep all those promises that he made to akiyama while he was alive. many of which included never forgetting the man.
in recent years, tsukihime has settled in the north sector of hisoka. he has stopped going to extreme links to avoid people, but he doesn’t try to reach out to people. the moon god has accepted that he must deal with life and the things in it. the moon god is most famous for talking musicians into playing him old songs and letting him sing along. he finds that it reminds him of akiyama, and he enjoys singing.
